Opening Ceremony

Lincolnshire Bomber Command Memorial

Thursday, 12 April 2018

The choir has once again been invited to take part in an opening ceremony at the Lincolnshire Bomber Command Memorial. On 2 October 2015 we attended the official opening of the spire and memorial walls with over 60,000 names of those from Bomber Command who lost their lives in WW2. Next April we will be attending the official opening of the rest of the site, including the Roy Chadwick Centre.

As with the last occasion, we will be joined by the Louth Male Voice Choir and the Orpheous Male Voice Choir. In April, however, we will also be singing with the Caistor and District Male Voice Choir. We should be well over 100 voices altogether, which should make for a very stirring and emotional rendering of 'Strike Hard, Strike Sure'.

We now have agreed dates for all 4 choirs to rehearse collectively. All rehearsals begin at 7.30pm.

Tuesday, 20 Feb in the Trinity United Reformed Church in St Martins Square, Lincoln.
Tuesday, 20 March in Louth.
Monday, 9 April in Caistor.

Farewell Concert for the Mayor of Lincoln

Guildhall, Lincoln

Tuesday, 8 May 2018

The choir has been especially honoured to have been asked to give a farewell concert for the current Mayor of Lincoln, Councillor Chris Burke. This will take place in the Guildhall before an invited audience and, from what we can gather, this will be the first time in the very long and illustrious history of the Guildhall, that a choir concert has been held in its historic Council Chamber.

The Mayor has been a very good friend to the choir. He has been an enthusiastic supporter who, depite his hugely busy diary, has managed to attend two choir concerets during his term of office. This will be a special event indeed in the history of the choir.
